Shire Rides 4 – 200 Years of the Bicycle
11 June, 2017, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEST
Join us in celebrating 200 years of the bike. (Party attire optional.)
We will ride from Sutherland to Cronulla, using a mix of shared paths, bicycle lanes and low trafficked streets. Our route will take us through Sylvania Waters and Taren Point, a distance of around 15kms (which incidentally is about the same distance as that first bike ride in Germany).
You can have a look at the proposed route here
Return a different way, through the centre of the Shire (Caringbah, Miranda, Gymea, Kirrawee), again avoiding busy roads — or catch the train from Cronulla (bikes travel free these days!).
REGISTRATION THROUGH EVENTBRITE IS ESSENTIAL.
Shire Rides is an initiative of Sutherland Shire Environment Centre. Come and join us. It will be a friendly ride at a leisurely pace.
The purpose of the rides is to enourage more cycling in the Shire by becoming more familiar with local routes. We are aiming for a small group (max 15).
A great opportunity to make new friends, and get more comfortable on your bike.
