Free Talk: Sir Joseph Banks – his life and legacy

The Southern Sydney branch of the @National Parks Association is hosting a free talk by Rhonda Daniels from the The Australian Plants Society – NSW on the life and legacy of Sir Joseph Banks. Banks collected many plant specimens in 1770 on Captain Cook’s Endeavour voyage, followed by a long life supporting scientific discovery. He is remembered in the Banksia genus and many place names including Joseph Banks Native Plants Reserve at Kareela.
