Stop Adani in Scott Morrison’s neighborhood
October 7, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Adani has started illegal work, cut the cost of their rail line in half and say they have locked in finance to start digging. Meanwhile, our new Prime Minister is a big supporter of coal billionaires.
Australians are outraged. We don’t support Adani, yet our politicians do. They could #StopAdani tomorrow, but they won’t unless they can see, feel and hear our movement everywhere.
That’s why from October 6-7, people across the country are going to hit the streets in the National Doorknock to #StopAdani. We will let our communities know what is at stake with Adani, invite them to join our movement and put up signs on every street!
As Shire residents, we have a unique opportunity to make a nation-wide impact on 7th October by meeting together at lunchtime in Lilli Pilli to door-knock the surrounding streets. You’ll be trained on the day including role-play scenarios, and given excellent conversation guides and worksheets to use. Just imagine Scott Morrison coming home from a church lunch on Sunday to find that dozens of his neighbours had put up “Stop Adani” signs in their front yards.
Are you in? Sign up to join with others in our community for the National Doorknock to #StopAdani.
The plan is to pack a lunch and meet at noon for a half hour picnic at Lilli Pilli Oval. Training will begin at 12:30 and finish by 1:30. Doorknocking will be done in pairs, with inexperienced people being paired with those who have doorknocked before. We are allocating 2 hours for the doorknocking with some spare time for walking back to the oval. Wrap up will commence back at the park at 4 pm and be finished by 4:30. Hope everyone can join us and help to get Scott Morrison’s neighbours on side with stopping this insane project and proudly displaying ‘Stop Adani’ signs on their properties.
