Sutherland Shire Environment Centre is an independent, not-for-profit, non-government, community organisation. We work with, and support individuals and groups interested in working to improve our environment and encourage sustainable living. We are actively involved in a wide range of campaigns and projects aimed at protecting the Shire from environmental threats, greening the Shire, environmental education, sustainable living and business, and reducing plastics pollution.

As a small non-profit organisation with limited funding, from our inception in 1991 Sutherland Shire Environment Centre has relied on volunteers to advocate on behalf of the environment in the area they care about and love.

As an organisation which is largely run by volunteers we would welcome your involvement and help.

Sutherland Shire Environment Centre volunteers undertake a range of activities - writing submissions and reports, graphic design, conducting beach cleanups, holding stalls and other events, lobbying various tiers of government in relation to environmental concerns, issues relating to climate change, overdevelopment, and sustainability. We'd love your help with these projects and more.
