Shire Ride : Sutherland to Cronulla
December 21 @ 7:30 am - 11:00 am
Put on the reindeer horns and decorate your bike for our Christmas ride : the iconic Sutherland to Cronulla. In the absence of a dedicated shared path through our beautiful Shire we will use whatever cycleways and quiet streets we can find.
We will head down via council cycleways through Sylvania Waters and around Woolooware Bay. At Cronulla we will eat and be merry, then either hop on a train if you want or ride back to Sutherland along what will one day be the SCATL route (quiet streets, but there is some traffic and slight hills).
Ride Distance: Approx 25 km
Shire rides are short, easier rides to enourage more cycling in the Shire by becoming more familiar with local routes. We are aiming for a small group (max 15). Our route is far away from Kingsway and President Avenue, but takes you close to useful destinations such as schools and shops.
A great opportunity to make new friends, and get more comfortable on your bike.
Pleasse ensure your bike is roadworthy (tyres pumped, brakes working), that you have a helmet and turn up 15 minutes before the start time to ensure an efficient get-away.
